Dead End Swamp

The road entrance was marked with a Dead End sign and I was nearly past it when I quickly decided to take the sharp left and travel up the tree lined street.  The thing about dead ends is that they tend to be short roads, ending in someone’s cul-de-sac, and you always feel foolish turning around in their driveway (you should have read the sign, buddy).

However, what are you going to do with your life if every time you want an adventure you dead end yourself before you get started.  My mind has these banters with itself but I will ultimately take the chance to Begin down the Dead End.

This evening the road went long and lonely deep into the mountain top headed westerly.  I glimpsed some reflections off to my right as the road swung open on a bend that had me gazing at a long wide open tree swamp.  The origins of these types of swamps is most likely from beavers damning up the stream exits.

I was soon out of my car, changed over to more appropriate attire to keep the bugs and poison-ivy at bay, and headed for the shoreline …… Dead End ……don’t let ‘em get to you …….
