Eastern Sierra Wishes

I was back at it this morning, working on my technique for creating startrail images.  There is some equipment that you need to help capture these images to your camera.  Once you set up your Nikon MC-36, put on the wide angle lens, set your ISO to 400, and put your speed to ‘Bulb’ your ready to go. There is an amazing feeling waiting for the Image to develop in the camera, this can take between 2-3 minutes, (depending on your creative exposure), that it must be similar to film. (A:=Prez?)

Your looking for background silhouettes, and camera angle to get your unique Image.  Practice and getting up and moving to find your location are necessary to get ‘er done…

During my research I read that the earths position to the stars, changes every eight seconds, thus, longer exposure have longer trails..the one star which has no trail is the North Star, …on this Image..high and on the top right
