About 2 weeks after this site was started I found out that Google can keep track of a lot of statistics about visitors to your site. You never have any idea who actually visits the site, but a lot of other interesting stuff is collected.  As a youngster, I used to collect coins and stamps from all over the world.  It fascinated me to no end that their currency and stamps had other images on them besides dodgy old dead presidents.

The country flags also seemed to shine out pride and history of nations and people that I wanted to learn about. Why a flag with white cross on a red background ?, Why the various three color banding on the European flags ?, Why did Australia adopt the Union Jack in the corner…I was just a weird kid with a coin collection and an encyclopedia (no internet in my day)

Looking at the Google Map Stats. Here in the US, Just about every state has had a least one visitor log onto this site, some states like CA,MA,TN,CO,ME and NY have a quite a few visitors. (THANKS !)…you also ALASKA

Up north, that fantastic wilderness that holds a great people who seem to enjoy life a little bit more than rest of us, Canada, has the second most visits for a nation.

Outside of the Americas, London, England has the most number of hits.  That seems to have changed recently, but I did enjoy seeing the map light up when I  looked at the site around six AM when I went off to work

As we continue around, Northern Europe , Moscow, Russia had a couple of visits. Imagine being the only one in that massive country to find and log onto this site to see and read something that interest you. That is just really cool.

The Pacific Rim also visits on a regular basis. The blog I did on PhotoFast CF cards was picked up and is on that companies link site, so we have vistors coming in to review content just about daily…that is also kinda cool. What is interesting is that technology is universal and that performance and quality and service requires validation and is such an important value add that it is researched by savvy buyers before they part with their cash.

There is one part of the world that came into and visited very early on, and that was Nordic Europe. Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, Finland,Denmark- countries that I’ve considered synonymous with cultural values of environmental conciseness.  I guess that comes from a snapshoot I saw of a couple thousand naked people standing on a receded glacier protesting global warming. I mean who does that, you really have to care about GW and your environment.

And let’s end by a brief discussions on the Germans, they are all speed readers, 10 visitors from 10 cities, reading an average 4 pages in 13 secs….whew….they are uber web cruisers.

Finally, a site has to have meaningful content and try and connect to some aspect of your needs in order for you to visit and return, time after  time.  We seem to have a good core group, returning quite often, and who are interested in what is being offered.

Thanks for visiting,  let’s reset the stat map and see what the next thirty days will bring..!
