News, Notes, Tech & Travel

There are a number of very, very talent people in this business. During the past several weeks, I have invested in my own training and knowledge by reading a few books and checking out the authors web site for other content. Each author has something to share and teach and you can’t help learn a thing or two about yourself and your photography.

  1. Captured by Moose Peterson (Kindle)
  2. Composition From Snapshots to Great Shots by Laurie Excell (Kindle)
  3. Welcome to OZ by Vincent Versace (Adobe Digital Edition)
  4. Professional Photoshop by Dan Margulis (Adobe Digital Editions)
  5. Mastering the Zone systems for Digital Photographers by Lee Varis (Kindle)

On another note, some disturbing news bout the new 35mm f/1.4g, technocrat Llyod Chambers, is all fired up, he says, ” In terms of autofocus, the 35/1.4G is surely the biggest piece of crap I’ve ever used of any brand, at least on my Nikon D3x and D3s (that’s $13K worth of pro camera bodies, folks). How can Nikon ship this garbage? Bad lens? ”  All I can say is oh-oh…my 35mm f/1.4 is still on backorder and I’m getting worried.

I came across this really great article from Alain Briot called ‘Rethinking Talent” over at the Luminous Landscape website.  You should take some time and hit this link and read thru it.
