Under the Influence (Welcome to OZ)

The impact to me, after attending Vincent Versace’s workshop, is that I have stopped everything, my daily website postings are on hold, my shooting (sort-of) on hold, I have decided to retooling/relearning/refocusing/reinvent – it is my reinvestment in myself and a  part-time diluted participation in the journey is not going to happen. Vincent’s workflow does not really allow for push a slider, or move a button, it is dynamic..and challenges you each step to know what tools to use to pursue your minds eye vision via patterns, light, contrast, saturation, focus, gesture, color, to cull that extra 2% at each step of your workflow, to perfect your Image….in short for me anyway, you don’t know what you don’t know, until you know it,…..so time to learn..

Vincent’s artistry is uniquely balanced by his effervescent, energetic and passionate personality coupled further with his desire to assist his students as their guide, teacher, chef, listener and engager. His workshop provided tools, software, techniques, quotes, vision, personality, comedy, desires, passions and anything that was a part of Vincent world or energy he shared and gave willingly …..

An example of his work is this Image of a student in our class, it was not captured or digitally developed in a studio.   Vincent walks the talk, in-situ, and works his Image using published OZ workflows, garnished with influences from Jay Maisel, Picasso, Einstein, Lombardi, Ernst Hass, Ansel Adams, Family, Brian Eno, Dan Margulis and many others.

Vincent truly is a sum of his parts and experiences, and his true genius is that he simply enjoys others to share his journeys, ideas and Images. And where else do you get quotes like this ?… (Welcome to) “OZ:  a place where impossible is just an opinion and Photoshop is not a verb. The verb is you.”
