Cherry Plain Colors

It almost never fails…let the light come to you.  After framing a number of shots earlier in the morning, I decided to stay put and see what would happen with the easterly sunrise at my back as it hit the trees, small hills and lake in front of me.  So soon after the sun light hit the top of the trees, it slowly marched downward, leaving a band of dark shadows at the lakes edge, yet just pinging the top of the sugar red maple that I had set my sights on. Patience paid off and when lady light hit I was ready.  I also knew that there would be a great reflection full of the saturation of the autumn colors on the lake’s surface. It was a pleasant surprise to have some movement of the lake water which blurred and painted the colors like an artist pallet.
