Hedelberg Stream

On top of the Helderberg escarpments, away from the typical tourist overlook, is a path that I traveled over last August. Directly behind my position, about ten feet of so, the water pours over a 1,500 foot drop to the valley below. I plan to post an Image of my attempt to capture that ledge and flowing water.  I had observed this path last August when it was no more than a dry granite ledge, it seemed odd when I walked over it and I suspected it was a sluice way for water during the runoff of early spring.

Hence, my return a few weeks ago to see if I was correct. Boy was I. The clear cool flowing water was racing and then quickly plunged over the escarpment.  Now I would not recommend this to anyone, but your supposed to be on the other side of the fence. However to creativity frame this shot of the fast moving future waterfall required moving to a position that was not all that wise.  My feet were drenched in the stream water, but my trusty tripod and Arc-Swiss cube and D3s with the Nikon 12-24mm served me well as I began to capture this image.

The colors are primality monotone but the pleasant spring greens frame the left side of the pulsing backlit white water, which assists your eye to travel thru the Image.   I did try and process this a B&W, however the greens made this a more compelling color image.
