I was not 100% satisfied with yesterday’s post of the ‘Little Witch”. What bugged me was the unnatural red luminance of the american flag and some of the magenta bleed thru on the white stripes. There are a few ways to fix that in Photoshop. However for those who use Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) on their RAW images you know what a great feature set ACR has for fixing these types of issues.
One feature that I have come to use quite often is the luminance tool. This tool does not have an exact compliment in Photoshop. Boy would I like to have been able to use ACR after I was done in Photoshop, and quickly make some adjustments.. but as they say up here in Yankee land…’ya cant get thar from ‘ere ‘
Well, I discovered that this feature does exists.. Do you have it in your copy of Cs5 extend ? Nope you don’t. I’m not kidding, my workflow on this image was RAW->ACR->CS5->ACR…..not impossible.
How then ? …well when I was at PSW 2011 the guru of all Photoshop guru’s, Dr. Russell Brown, talked about this special script he wrote that allows you to use ACR as a smart object in CS5 on just about any layer you want .. How cool is that !
So I went to the Adobe TV Russell Brown show and watched the video, downloaded the plug in and vola, I was able to quickly address my Images problems…and I have a new WORK Flow….Excellent.
