Troy Turkeys

I waited face down in the grass behind a gravestone for ten minute to get this Image. Yep, I said graveyard.  I was traveling thru Troy, NY and found this old graveyard that had a great cityscape view. The elements for the city shot just were not there but as I headed to return my Nikon into my car trunk, out popped a half dozen turkeys.

I reached for my other NIkon with 70-200mm glass and began to stalk these birds.  Well, I’m six’four:” and the term stalking I’m using loosely.  I must have looked pathetic scampering from tree to tree to keep my frame hidden from the critters line of site.  The birds then darted into the forest, so I went to my knees and crawled behind the last set of gravestone, (I was between the back of the stones and the roadway, so I didn’t feel like I was really desecrating the interred.

I then waited, and waited, thinking that the turkeys would return to their feeding if they sense that my goofy presence had disappeared.  Well, success, once the came back they were cautious but relaxed and moved about, I took a number of Images, my position still wasn’t that good, but there was a small opening with some light that I set my exposure and focus for and prepared for those critters to move into. Once they did, I had my image.
