Black Ice

Fritzimages Black IceWinter is still trying to make a showing, yet without snow, the next best ingredient is cold temps and ice. In this image shot with the Nikon 24 f/1.4, everything is stopped down to f/16 and the leading line for the viewers eye is a deep crack in the ice, headed into the reflecting frozen sunset.  The dock which is jutting from the shoreline gets crunched up every year during the ice melt flows, and every spring the owners are out repairing it.  The simple passage of slow moving sunsets and time on the lake.
