Interesting workflow for sky/clouds posted in comments section for recent NX2 blog by Marcus… I’ve been working on his instructions and like the results do far
Don’t know about others experiences yet, but NX2 v2.2.5 still crashes, not as often but it does go down, so saving file after each action is important
Moose Peterson has a new website up focusing on Aviation. It is a must see at warbirdImages.com
Also in case you missed it, he’s also posted a link to Images taken with the new Nikon lens by Lindsay Silverman. with the new 85mm.
I keep on misplacing my 2 spirit level and 2 bubbles, not to worry Really Right Stuff has the imported UK (Hama?) in stock. I have had bad luck with Lens Coat bubbles, so stay clear of their stuff…Go for RRS, they are always on point with quality.
Rural, urban and landscape Images from pre-ww2. Property of Library of Congress. 2006 Exhibit Titled Bound for Glory: America in Color, check these Images out for inspiration.
For those current DAP member, head over or drop Lloyd a line and be part of his one time special offer prerelease on his online toolkit Making Sharp Images…I jumped on the chance to take advantage of this….everyone else will need to wait…for the public release.
For those photogs with Ustrap’s, this quality manufacture has seen 2 in 10,000 camera side quick relase web failures, and it was enough that Al Stegmeyer, Photographer-Inventory has issued a 30 day recall to replace the strap….

For me, it has always been about the image, but how to present that Image so the viewer can feel like you are there ?
The Home page Images found on most sites are usually small pics and found in a revolving gallery of some sort, no detail, very isolated,…
Or the Home page images are huge, but you can’t read the sites blog or page content, because the Images are to high on the screen, hoarding all the space
It perplexed me that what was needed, was a hybrid..I searched hi and low for three weeks, and then another four weeks in theme redesign.
Today you have the ability to read the posts, look at a feature gallery, and now….
(Because the Image is everything)
Click on your image choice in the feature galley and join me as we look at the wonderment of Travel and Outdoor Digital Images……..
(thanks for the motivation and inspiration Moose and Prez for the therapy and old school knowledge)
Check out some 1995 Tyson photo’s from Jeff Snyder, (Adorama rep) and shooter
If you have the time, go see one of the only flying 1917 Curtiss Jenney here in Upstate NY.
The new site, had an ugly auto resize feature, which was throwing of the Image perspective, so I had to learn Deamweaver and MAMP and get this site back up. I’m beginning to think Prez is right, go back to film. It has been a painful 30 days.
The summer is here, lots to do and places to go and I’m looking forward to getting past the lost 30 days.
However, I recalled Moose telling us that he spent weeks in isolation getting his paper and printing, just right, that’s the problem with us perfectionist….we don’t cut corners…
Gura Gear Kiboko Bag -This is a super bag..I’m using it to hold my big gun lens on one side (200-400 Vr2) with D3 attached. On the other side I store my primes and TCE’s. Purchased at Outdoor Photo Gear $399
Keep an eye open for software sales, they seem to be all over the place:
